Cesar Oviedo
Born in 1962, studied in the National Conservatory of Music in Managua Nicaragua. Cesar started his professional musical career as a bass player with the jazz—fusion band, “Praxis”. After having played different styles such as Brazilian, Rock, Flamenco and Latin American Folk, he participated in the Havana Cuba, Jazz Festival in 1987 and the UCLA festival in Lima, Peru. Cesar, won first prize in the Festival de la Juventud, and was the Music Adviser for the Nicaraguan National Television Systems Network of Nicaragua for three years. He also composed, arranged and played for the OTI Nicaraguan Festival.
Later he moved to Miami, FL. were Oviedo produced, played and recorded with several Latin Caribbean -Reggae, Salsa, Cuban and Merengue- bands. He toured with Soul Vibes, and was the Musical Director of Tropical Splash in Las Vegas, NV. In 1997, he played Jazz on a tour to Japan.
Currently Cesar is a music instructor in Greensboro North Carolina. He also gives private, semi-private and group music lessons to all ages.
His projects include: Directing, arranging and playing with the Afro—Cuban band, West End Mambo.
From the musical influence acquired and his vision of futuristic Latin—Rock, Cesar formed Braco. This band incorporates a variety of Latin styles from Afro—Cuban, Brazilian, Puerto Rican, to folkloric rhythms of Central and South America.
Cesar is the owner of O_Music produtctions. A company that specializes in Digital Audio Recording, Mixing and Mastering.
