Notice A Trend? Just about every song AKA plays is a certified platinum hit. They were picked because, as an experienced cover band, we know our job is to entertain the crowd, not each other. On the other hand, since we found all these great songs we all like, it makes playing them for you an awful lot of fun

If You’re Keeping Score At Home....

Our current set list features about 25 songs from the 60s and 70s and 50+ from the 90s to now  -- Kind of a Bell-Shaped Curve of Rock and Roll. Obviously, if you need a fix of Whitesnake or Duran Duran, we’re not your band. We play some 80s tunes; but we’re different than your 80s band and way different than the “classic rock” outfits that don’t keep in touch with what today’s club and party crowds want to hear. Also missing from the AKA repertoire is any Disco or Hip-Hop. Every band ought to have a personality. With AKA, that personality comes through with well-played, proven crowd-pleasers; but no Spandex or Big Hair. We can focus on what you’re crowd wants to hear, as long as it’s great, danceable rock, soul and modern country.

* A word about Mustang Sally: It was a great song when Wilson Pickett did it, and we do a helluva version. But for every person who requests it, there’s a corresponding individual who has heard so many bad renditions that they just don’t want to hear it ever again. We respect those wishes, except when a club owner or hiring manager asks for it. Or, if someone requests it in writing using the Official AKA Request Form. 50

Requests on this form can also get us inspired to play “Freebird” and other over-exposed anthems. But we would rather play the stuff we know the majority of your crowd will really like.

What you’ll hear: AKA is a big group with a big sound, utilizing two guitars, keyboards, sax, bass, drums and percussion with four singers. Big doesn’t necessarily have to be loud. We have state-of-the-art equipment and keep the stage volume down. Then, we mic everything, including the drums and guitar amps, to get a balanced mix at any volume level. Including loud if you want it.
